Network Communication Coordinator (32 hrs/week)

Clean Clothes Campaign (CCC) is dedicated to improving working conditions and supporting the empowerment of workers - most of them women - in the global garment and sportwear industry. In the more than 30 years of our existence, an effective global network of more than 200 trade unions and NGOs has been created. Members and partners within the CCC global network are committed to a shared Global Strategic Framework, and cooperate in global working groups, as well as through national and regional coalitions. The Amsterdam office hosts two teams: the International Office (IO), which supports the CCC global network, and the Dutch Schone Kleren Campagne (SKC), which coordinates CCC activities in the Netherlands. These two teams are supported by IT specialists, an HR officer & office manager, a fundraising coordinator and a small financial team. In total, the organisation employs 25 staff within one legal entity (Stichting Schone Kleren Campagne). The organization has no Executive Director; decision-making is based on consensus and non-hierarchical principles, within a clearly defined framework of self-steering teams. The coordination of organisational matters is performed by a Cross Team Body (CTB), in which both teams are represented. The CTB has three portfolio holders (Finances & Grant management, Fundraising, and HR & IT/Office management).


CCC’s goals include being a diversity-based organisation in terms of gender, race, ethnicity, sexuality etc. CCC also aims to offer an accommodating environment and conditions to all employees (for example, adapted working hours and workplace, provision of additional support etc).


Tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating internal communications and events for the CCC Network (e.g. email communications, podcast, intranet, internal event coordination, interpretation and translation) .
  • Reviewing and analysing existing internal communication and events processes and tools for sharing and receiving information within the Network.
  • Proposing recommendations for improving internal communications and events and executing changes agreed.
  • Reviewing the English language network policy: look into translation costs (machine translation included) and benefits.
  • Working on making best use of our 'internal assets' such as documents, event outputs and other internal communication materials.
  • Coordinating building the Network cohesion through events and other activities.


Required skill set:

As the Network Communication Coordinator, you -

  • Have at least 3 years experience of internal communications ideally in a multi-lingual and multi-cultural context.
  • Are creative and have good design skills for internal communications.
  • Are able to meet deadlines, have attention to detail.
  • Have PMEL skills.
  • Possess excellent written communication skills.
  • Are a team player.
  • Have experience with working with raising the profile of marginalized, discriminated and/or oppressed groups.


We offer:

  • A dynamic job in a non-hierarchical organisation in which all staff earn the same salary, within an inspiring international network.
  • 1-year contract which, upon satisfactory performance and availability of funds, will be renewed into a permanent contract.
  • For 2021 the salary level is set at € 3.632,88 on the basis of 36 hours per week (full time), plus 8% holiday pay. For this position this means € 3.229,23 gross per month for 32 hours, plus 8% holiday allowance. Every year salaries are adjusted for inflation. Please note that, due to our principle of equality, the salary is not negotiable.
  • A fully paid for pension plan, 36 Euros net telephone allowance, general net allowance 1% of gross pay, contribution towards trade union membership, reimbursement of commuting costs (up to a fixed amount) and an individual training budget.
  • 5 weeks holidays plus the days between Christmas and New Year.


The candidate needs to have residence and work permit for the Netherlands. The position is based in Amsterdam, and a “working from home” policy applies.
